Background

The Aquamats® are not used normally in Vietnamese farms.In hatchery farms, they are using live food or chemical to get high survival rate of post larva, but the result is not sufficient to the target. Additionally to that, the post larva can not easily adopt to the new pond for the grower stage, because of their weak health condition. In growing ponds, the probiotics are used as a waster treatment and food chain inducer. Although the microbials and plankton have a tendency to stick to a place, but there is no place to stick. They need some place to stick and a nest for their lives.

Fish are inclining to shade their body in some grass and plant. Aquamats® gives all the nest, shade for the fish, plankton and microbials. It can make the efficient microbials to dominate the pond water microbials column and reduce the treatment frequency of the microbials if they adopt it their farms for continuous application. It's a way to increase the culturing density in same condition. We have many experienced with this Aquamats to the shrimp culturing ponds and hatchery tanks through whole of the world.

 

Product Introduction

Aquamats® are an innovative new product that increases productivity of larviculture, nursery and growout operations in low or no water exchange operations as well as in traditional systems. Aquamats deliver great value to farmers by allowing increased survival of animals at higher stocking densities while improving growth rates. Used properly, Aquamats can be an effective tool in aiding the stabilization of the pond while minimizing water exchange and improving survival and FCR's.

 On average, an Aquamats installation will improve FCR's by 0.2-0.4 dependent on species and stocking density. The key parameter of improvement seems to be survival increases, varying from 14-24% improvements in vannamei to 7-12% improvements in monodon. I have data from some 1200+ runs in over 100 locations that we have collected and collated to assess such issues. Most users are planning on increasing their stocking densities by 300-500% and AquaMAts® seem to help ease the transition to such high levels of productivity. Every research farm in the US Shrimp Consortium has ended up using AquaMats® in their high yield research. There may be no research or commercial facilities nowhere in the world producing over 4 kilos/cubic meter/cycle that do not use AquaMats®
